We found a local artist who works with metal, Milo's Metal Works and first had him install a long copper countertop in our kitchen. We then found a picture of a fireplace screen we thought we could not live without and contacted him again. He ended up building and installing this gorgeous copper and iron piece consisting of two large fireplace screen doors which I cannot look at without thinking of him. It is very southwest with the iron arrows in the center crossing through the copper ring. It is also very functional - it covers the old screen which keeps the embers and wood in and the very large doors open from the middle, making it is easy to let the grandchildren help us build a fire. As it turned out the actual designer was someone Milo knew! We loved it, he was flattered and now we have a very similar one. Take a look at a custom piece .
