A zebra rug is awesome with southwest design - in our opinion - and they now dye cowhide to duplicate this exotic animal so you can have a natural rug instead of synthetic.  Cowhides are so easy to care for and will last a lifetime even used as a rug. Southern Hides.com has the zebra print on yellow, red, orange, blue, green and the standard black and white.  They range in price from $395 to $765 depending on the size and color.  The larger ones are are up to 65 square feet while the smaller ones are up to 16 square feet.  There are two other sizes and this seller also has pillows and even a butterfly chair in this great print.

This gorgeous rug is at Amazon.com for $249.  They have quite a selection, including the Brazilian Brown Zebra rug printed on a beige color.   If you prefer synthetic as opposed to cowhide, they have a large selection of those also.  We even found a 5 foot by 8 foot zebra print area rug which is shag at Amazon for $149.  They also have a 5 foot by 8 foot area rug in the synthetic print for $54.99.  You can pick up some light switch covers to match there as well!

There is an authentic zebra skin rug with felt backing at Tace.com for $2500.  The rug is fabulous, as shown here, and would be wonderful with any decor. This seller appears to carry a lot of wonderful and one of a kind decor items.

Hollywood Love Rugs.com has an African Zebra print cowhide which is dark brown on beige if you prefer not to go with the black and white theme in your room.  It is 5 foot by 7 foot and the list price is $839, on sale at $349 with free shipping.  They also have the same product in the typical black and white combination as well as many other exotic animal rugs made from cow hides.  Again, if you prefer synthetic this seller has one in the authentic shape which is approximately 2 foot by 4 foot for $99 list price and $69 sale price.

If you really need to stay on a limited budget, JC Penney has zebra print rugs and runners that are very reasonably priced.  Walmart, HomeDepot and Target all have zebra area rugs online and maybe even in their stores.  Target even has a pink zebra rug.  These are all synthetic and most are machine washable.

Southwest decor can be eclectic so we take advantage of it to use the "things" we have always wanted to have.  The large metal wall art item, the saguaro ribs on cold air return, a zebra print rug and the bamboo pots have been worked into a southwest

home.                       All these items made the owner's socks roll up and down and the look is so fun.  Venetian plaster walls, steer head and petroglyph metal wall art piece hanging in the bottom shelf finish off these niches.
