Verde Fuoco Granite is from Australia and can be difficult to obtain.  WOLFGRANITE.COM has it online for about $108 per square foot installed.  Only the blue granites from Brazil appear to be more expensive.  With the blues, your colors are limited, with the copper and green in the verde fuoco granite you can use nearly any color in the room..

In this picture you can see the use of various colored plates in the plate rack, and very colorful dishes in the glass doored cupboards.  If you click to make the picture larger you will see the toaster is red and stainless steel.  The copper faucets and sinks and stainless steel fridge also all work well with the verde fuoco granite.  The varigated slate flooring is visible and it too is great with the countertops.  Notice the split face edge on the island.  Read about the whole remodel.

The same kitchen island is shown in this picture but in a different light. Surely everyone would agree this is the most beautiful granite you have ever seen.  The finish on the edge is absolutely fabulous and exudes workmanship and elegance.  In this kitchen more than one type of finish edge was applied.  The island is made of one piece, or slab of granite and the rest of the counters in the kitchen are also large slabs.  The e only seams are at the back of the sink edges and they are nearly invisible.  The backsplash is a hand-picked mosaic tile designed specifically for this granite by a large tile store and was $75 per square foot - and that was before installation!  It looks perfect with the granite and once you see them together you will have to have them.  To see a full screen sized picture click on the picture!  After you do you will be out shopping for some.

There are many different types of edges which can be applied to granite.  The different types can be mixed in the same kitchen, as is done above.  There are also different thicknesses of granite available.  And the granite is not as thick as it appears in the picture, the edges are made with fused pieces to give it the extra thick appearance.  This is a very expensive process, but oh so worth it.  The heavy bullnose edge you can see on the remaining sections of counter above, are also fused pieces made to look that thick.
